"Finding Balance with Mindfulness" Healthcare Professionals and Caregivers Retreat December 5 – 9, 2026

Every day, healthcare professionals face stressors that impact them across three different levels. First, healthcare professionals and caregivers absorb the suffering and pain of patients and the people they care for daily.  Second, working within the healthcare system means regularly facing inadequate resources, which causes intense stress. Third, healthcare professionals and caregivers are also human beings. They have their own stress, emotions, and personal life challenges just like everyone else.  When combined together, the weight of these three levels can lead to exhaustion, imbalance, and burnout.

When we practice mindfulness, we learn how to come back to ourselves in the present moment and how to take good care of whatever is happening in our mind and body.  Mindfulness practice is a kind of medicine that can help healthcare professionals and caregivers to find balance in the present moment.   When practicing mindfulness, healthcare professionals and caregivers can protect themselves from the burdens of these three levels.

The monastic community and healthcare sangha of Plum Village Thailand are co-organizing a retreat, "Finding Balance with Mindfulness," for healthcare professionals and caregivers from December 5 – 9, 2026, at the Thai Plum Village International Practice Center.
