When Rain Becomes Blessing

The rain falls so softly, washing every leaf of every tree, washing every care. Namo 'valokiteshvaraya.
These lines come from The Rain, a song composed by Sister Chân Đức (True Virtue), the first Western European nun ordained by Thich Nhat Hanh in 1988. Her song feels very close to what we are experiencing here at Plum Village Thailand.
These days, the weather moves like a meditation—bright sunshine suddenly giving way to a generous downpour, then slowly softening into a gentle drizzle. At times, the rain seems to last forever. Listening deeply, we can feel how its sound soothes the heart, how each drop nourishes the trees, making every leaf fresh and alive again.
In these moments, we remember the presence of Avalokiteshvara—the one who listens deeply to the suffering of the world and responds with great compassion.
Here in Plum Village Thailand, the Sky Yard in Clear Sky Hamlet and the Moon Yard in Bright Moon Hamlet continue to hold and support our collective energy of practice. Under both sun and rain, the construction of the Space Beyond SpaceMeditation Hall on the Sky Yard has now been steadily progressing for over a month.
We feel deeply grateful. Support has been coming from sangha members in all directions, like nourishing rain and warm sunshine, embracing and sustaining this aspiration.
There are moments when we work diligently, and there are moments when we simply sit, listening to the rain. Though there is much to be done, we also touch the joy of doing nothing. There is no need to rush. Each step, each breath, is already part of the path.
Dear beloved sangha around the world, if you would like to learn more or continue supporting this collective dream, please visit:https://www.thaiplumvillage.org/donation-meditation-hall
